I’m volunteering with a public health NGO in New Delhi that serves the very poor. With two mobile clinics, seven part-time doctors and about 10,000 patients a month the environment is pretty fast-paced. Each patient is seen for only a few minutes, for free, and receives free medicine.

The NGO wants to start keeping track of patients using an electronic database. Ideally, the doctors would take the patient’s details and prescriptions using a hand held device (something like an iphone) that’s networked into a central server.

A company that designs electronic health record systems for doctors and hospitals in the United States has offered to provide their services for free, but their applications are all web-based and because of the quick turnover at the clinics and very slow internet speeds on wireless devices here in India that’s not ideal.

The clinics visit slums in and around New Delhi in three hour intervals. What I’d like to do is allow the doctors to take their patient’s information and prescriptions and send them using a wifi network, quickly, to an off-line server that would, at the end of each shift, deliver the information to an online server.

Does that make sense?

If so, does anyone have any advice on how to network handheld devices together off-line? Any advice on what platforms to use?

First I dont have subscription to AT&T, so I have a prepaid card, no internet access on phone

I want to buy an iPhone, but the new one will come out soon and is that worth to buy now?
iPhone is like 1.6X more expensive than iPod touch on craigslist, I can’t stand the slow speed of 3G so i need a 3GS if Im buying one. But since I dont have internet, does the compass mic camera video and stuff like that really worth that 60% money as an iphone ?

I also want to buy an iPod touch, since I can save money from the $400 i sold with my 3G (slow speed), but next ipod touch will have camera, but still got to wait till next June for next generation, is that worth to buy now?

..I need your advices, thanks!

I have already Jail broken my Itouch and basically want someone to explain this in a better detail and maybe give me a tutorial on it. I want to put this link (http://www.mediafire.com/?i3qozkg3iym
)(which is provided below) leading to a download of an already beaten and hacked Cartoon Wars Gunner saved file but dont understand how (and tried searching but cant find out how). I would also like to do this just on my ipod and without using a computer. And again, my ipod is just jail broken and has safari but not safari dl (unless they are the same thing). Please provide links and a understandable tutorial. This would help alot.
Thank You

Below is the origonal link and tutorial that was given

Alternativly you can have this save i made : http://www.mediafire.com/?i3qozkg3iym

Stage: 001 (Start of properly’ish)
Gold: 16777215
Score: 16777215
Kills: 15794175
All Guns Lvl:10 =) (Last gun is lvl 11 for ultimate stats!! it only works for this gun or you walk like a snail =|)
All Stats: 65536 (Except speed because it is immpossible)
Just copy and paste lev.bz file in the documents files. DO NOT COPY LEV2.BZ! (I did not mean to leave it in the folder)

You can put these files into your gamesave via you computer using SSH or on your iPhone or iPod touch using Safari DL and iFile.

path:
/private/var/mobile/Applications/”CW-Gunner”/Documents

If you are struggling to find the folder containing CW-Gunner app using SSH, open iFile on you iPhone or iPod touch and head over to applications then under the name of the app you will find it says “in XXXXXXXX-XXXX……”

So I’m a huge fan of the “Glyder” games, where you control a glider’s speed and movement by tilting the iPhone; so I’m wondering, are there any other games like that?

Here are some of my reasons:

1. No cut and paste.
2. Apple steals 30% of developers revenue.
3. Applications can’t interact with music library
4. No over the air updates
5. Jailbreak your iphone and you could face time in jail.
6. Everything is locked until you activate it. Not to mention, activation has taken days for some.
7. There is no moving the phone to another gsm provider unless you hack the phone, which is not an ethical thing to do.
8. There are many alternatives that’ll do more or the same.
9. No actual qwerty keyboard. And no, that “emulated” onscreen keyboard is not an actual, physical, qwerty keyboard.
10. Can’t send MMS picture messages.
11. Can’t record videos.
12. No songs as ring tones.
13. No gps.
14. It does not work under 64bit windows.
15. Heat issues: the iPhone can get very hot when it is in use.
16. Contrary to popular belief, you dont actually own the phone.
17. 3g speeds on the Iphone are mediocre at best.
18. requires itunes to sync with a pc.
19. It doesn’t have a file browser/organizer.
20. You can not save documents on it: documents can only be viewed as attachments when they’re sent to your e-mail address.
21. No voice recording.
22. No voice dialing.
23. No instant messaging.

I recently upgraded to the new BT home hub, I quickly set up my pc,iphone and Xbox through wired connections and for months I’ve had no problems. Then everything started becoming really slow when I added my new laptop, wireless, to my network that I got for Christmas.

The signal seems to be good and windows seem to want to open quickly but the green bar at the bottom moves incredibly slow.

I’m sure I don’t have any viruses, everything seems to be working fine and I never have anymore than 2 devices on at once.

What can I do to get my broadband going at full speed again?

Hey, i have just bought an Alpine CDE-114BTi car stereo.

It includes a Full Speed iphone connection cable, which comes from the back of the head unit, how will i be able to get this cable from the back, into the car interior? i have seen them coming out of the glovebox, but i didnt know whether i would be able to drill a hole in the tray above the front ashtray, if you dont know what this looks like it is about the size and width of 4-5 cd cases stacked on top of eachother, and i keep my cd’s in it at the moment. Anyway, do you reacon that drilling a hole in that and having the cable go into there, so i can plug my iphone in there would work?

ok, so i am a 14 year-old who’s going on a class trip this coming spring to DC and i really want to have something to keep me entertained on the long flights and drives. the main thing i want my…i-whatever… to do is play music. as you can guess i’ll want to take pics which is something only the iphone can do but i already have a camra. i also have a decent phone so i won’t be making any calls. i will however be on the internet (at least i think i will be) so if one or the other has better access or speed that might be a factor.

also… do i really need 32GBs of memory or could i live with less? i don’t think that i’m gonna go crazy putting info on the thing, but i’ve never owned anything made by apple before so… ya!

please give as much info as you possibly can. i really appreciate it!!! thanks.

Hello~

Ok, so I’m 12 years old and a girl, my parents said they would allow me to get a cellphone 1.) i earned it 2.) they had a hard time keeping track of where I was…lol. Now, don’t get the wrong picture, most of the time my parents do know where I am. It’s just that I have Chinese School and it’s a pain in the butt cuz my dad is always late and stuck in traffic. One time I had to stay at the school for an hour because the traffic was so bad, my dad got so worried he drove as fast as he could when the traffic let up that he got a speeding ticket. Also, another time I had my middle school orientation for new coming 6th graders, and parents weren’t suppose to come. So my dad dropped me off and he had a meeting to go to. Apparantly, he forgot about me and waited at the school for 3 hours before he got out of the meeting and checked his voice mail. LOL. So, yeah, my mom and dad were fighting over his responsibilities and decided that I needed a cellphone just in case. Now remember, I know nothing about cellphones. My mom said I could get whichever one I want because money isn’t an issue for us. I wanted an iPhone, but somebody said the the Blackberry is better. Is there different types of Blackberries??? My mom said something about a Nokia, what the heck is that? As you can see, I am fairly lost. Please help, and possible give me pro’s and con’s for the cellphone that you recommend. Personal experiences welcomed.

Thanks in advance~
