Why do ppl buy iPhone when Droid is faster and better? Any clue?
posted by IphoneSpeedTest in Questions 4 commentsAndroid OS rocks – Verizon network speed is lightning fast – Lots of free apps – Nice Maps!! What else you need?
A shiny look?
forgot to mention their aGPS functionality – real time ( I mean real real time ) unlike iphone.
Also, I would rather pick the phone first then the service provider.
I guess it is because of the deadly combination of Motorola’s neat handset and a light weight Android OS. Sorry I almost forgot…Verizon’s CDMA adds to it.
Which is the best app for measuring speed for the iPhone 3G?

posted by IphoneSpeedTest in Questions 2 commentsThey recently added this to the AT&T DSL TOS:
“AT&T may immediately terminate or suspend all or a portion of your Service, any Member ID, electronic mail address, IP address, Universal Resource Locator or domain name used by you, without notice, for conduct that AT&T believes … tends to damage the name or reputation of AT&T, or its parents, affiliates and subsidiaries.”
So if you have an iphone and go online and gripe about it, or slow dsl speeds, etc, they will cut you off.
Is there something wrong with me/psychology behind my need for nice things?
posted by IphoneSpeedTest in Questions 2 commentsI feel compelled to have the nicest things, it started off small. I have always had a really nice car, I like cars and I could afford one–that was my excuse. Then one day I noticed my jeans from American Eagle kept ripping every 6 months-year, so I decided I would buy nicer one from Nordstrom’s…which led to all my clothes becoming designer or high end. My bedding was next, because I sleep in it, so I should spend more to make it nicer…plus it looks a lot nicer, I sort of like interior design so nice bedding made me think of nice hotels, and so now I have the nicest furniture.
I still think that the amount of money needed for computer or console gaming is ridiculous, as is that of the data plans for smartphones (blackberry, iphone…)–I used to have one, I don’t think its worth the price. I have the newest electronics, I cannot really justify the televisions and cable packages, I can with the computers and high speed internet.
But it seems I am becoming a snob, I am not doing this to compete or keep up appearances or whatever…I know it’s not the end of the world if I have to sleep on 300 thread count sheets, I just dread the day. And I have no problem sacrificing my leisure time to work and to get all these things–they look cool, and everyday I wake up and appreciate everything I have. While I drive I keep thinking “I love this car,” when I wake up I think “I am lucky to have such nice sheets, this bed is awesome.” And then I think about my grandparents and parents, who require so much less than I do, but deserve it even more…I feel guilty-ish.
What’s going on with me, mentally? What compels someone to surround themselves with nice things? Is there even something, or is it simply nice things are nice? But why me more than others (especially older generations)?
alright so i currently have a sidekick LX and a sidekick 2008. but i’m selling my sidekick LX. Well someone is willing to trade their 8gb iPhone for my sidekick LX. We both got our phones aroudn the same time (about a month apart). It’s the original iPhone, not the new 3g iPhone, but that doesnt matter because T-Mobile hasn’t rolled out 3G in my area yet. So the 3G speeds isnt a problem. He would have it unlocked and jailbroken for me. Is it a fair trade? My sidekick LX for his 8gb iPhone. go to the link below for pictures of my LX if it helps you decide lol xD

at brian h- i currently have T-Mobile. I would use the iPhone on T-Mobile since it will be unlocked. The G1 is a nice phone and all, but i don’t like the look of it. Software is nice, although i’ve heard there’s some bugs with the email on it.
On my iPhone 3gs why does it say I need wifi or use iTunes on comp to buy movies and apps?
posted by IphoneSpeedTest in Questions 0 commentsiphone and data plan crisis. advices would be greatly appreciated?
posted by IphoneSpeedTest in Questions 1 commentI am planning on purchasing the new iphone 3GS
there is a company that offers a reasonably priced data plan
the plan includes 6Gb of internet
i was planning on canceling my home internet and using the 6Gb on both the iphone and my home laptop (macbook)
since i have a macbook, connecting the iphone to my laptop and using the internet should not be a problem
i have also contacted my current home internet provider and they told me that i use about 3-5Gb of internet every month
my questions are:
1. would the 6Gb be enough for every month? (considering the fact that i am a high school student going to university next year…. i don’t do much downloading and i just surf the internet…websites like facebook, yahoo, hotmail or youtube)
2. how would the speed of internet be on my laptop?
3. would it be easily setup on my laptop like a regular internet?
4. in general, is this a good idea?
thanks:D
i am guilty of speeding ..i’ll give you that BUT
the does the info the cop writes on my ticket has to be true according to the law? because the latitude and longitude he wrote on ticket of where he caught me is 30 miles off according to mapquest, google, and iphone and i dont think that all of these softwares could be wrong
so basically what my question is that
everything on my ticket should be correct information by the law right ???
thanks in advance
Currently I have the iPhone first gen. My boyfriend gave me it when he upgraded his. So essentially I’ve had this iPhone for free for several months.
I’ve been thinking about getting the new iPhone 3GS. I’ve figured out that what I’ll get as an upgrade is:
Speed boost
Better camera
Video recording
MMS
Internet (No wi-fi at my house, so I’d be looking forward to 3G)
Bigger storage space. (8GB to 16GB)
I’m a massive fan of the iPhone, always using the wireless round a friends house, big fan of the games and apps. And when I had an old phone that could shoot videos, I did miss that feature when I got my iPhone.
I’ve figured out that it’ll cost me £560 which includes the phone (16GB) and contract for a year.
Do you think it’s worth the money?
Thanks for the advice, Fay.
I agree, I could hold off for another six months, however, in that time I probably wouldn’t be able to afford the brand new one, as the prices seem to be going up.
I’m also spending quite a lot of time at home recently, so the 3G would come in very, very handy for that.
The 3GS also has the features I’d mainly use. Sure I’d like more space, the fastest model (probably more speed next year) but what the 3GS has to offer right now, I’d be perfectly happy with it.. I think. Haha.
